THE STORY OF KOPI LUWAK (LUWAK Coffee)
Kopi Luwak is a coffee that came from coffee cherries which been eaten as it come through enzymatic process of civet cat digestive system. Also known as cat coffee, Kopi Luwak (Luwak coffee) is one of the most extraordinary coffee varieties in the world. The name originates from Indonesia, where "Kopi" means coffee and "Luwak" refers to the civet cat.
We are conform with the awereness and application of the principle animal welfare defined by Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, if we are working with Luwak Civet. The majority of our Coffee Luwak came from WILD Luwak Civet, certified by the local authority.
THE MOST SPECIAL COFFEE IN THE WORLD
Kopi Luwak production contains several steps which civet animal eats coffee cherries at first, and then through digestive undergoes a process of decomposition of the chemical content in the coffee beans, especially caffeine and protein levels of the luwak coffee beans. The digested and excreted coffee bean is then collected, cleaned with the proper Washing process, Drying, Removing the Coffee Husk (Hulling) and Sortation. Due to these unique circumstances, a mild, sweet, and earthy flavor is developed.

WILD LUWAKS
Luwaks from cage farming often suffer from a lack of movement and diseases. Often, the animals cannot eat under natural conditions because they are nocturnal.
That's why we only work with WILD Luwaks.

CONTROLLED PROCESS
Our Coffee Luwak is 100% safe to be consumed. After collection, we wash the beans to remove the dirty outer shell and then dry them in the Indonesian sun. After drying, we wash a second time to ensure all outer shells and any kind of impurities are removed. At this point we re-dry the beans again.
